The Mystery of Amelia Preston

"I design the future, but the past...",

For each pixel I create there's a heartache story that is attached to my history. I'm called a Human-Computer Interaction Designer, but what they do not know is that every user interface I create is a projection of me, broken, but also beautiful.

The story begins in the low light of a loft in Berlin, love found me in the form of a musician who played my inner-core like a violin. 🎻 He promised 'I love you' in code, and he did not have my syntax, A love and life that lasted two years of love, chaos, and 'I will fix it tomorrow', before he ceased to be. One day our connection was gone, as if it were a corrupted file; Poof. No log, no history. Just an empty repository, no feedback, just silence.

I moved on to an architect; a man who built walls around his heart, but allowed me in, for a moment, before locking me down in the basement of his heart structure. 🏗️ We 'designed' the life we wanted together, but a set of engineered blueprints are not real life. He left me for a woman who simply accepted his arrangements as-is. Funny how the most stable structures can come crashing down even more.

Today I am a blip in the system. I put my feelings into UX; I create emotional experiences using shadows and light, and I entice users with nonlinear interactions and experiences. The work I do is my protest against love and predictability. Do you have the courage to go deep? 🔍
